Featuring the shades of pastel, Miami Beach architects used local imagery to create what we now call Tropical Deco. Different from the glam and luxury vibe, Art Deco in Miami is more subdued due to the Great Depression In the 1930s. It features curving forms and smooth, polished surfaces. A sleeker form of the style called Streamline Moderne appeared.
